Anyone tried to get dollars via Western Union? Or do they pay you out in pesos?

In theory, according to the company, if you go to the central ¨headquarters¨ one on Cordoba they are supposed to pay you in dollars.

In theory, if the transfer was initiated in dollars per Western Union policy they are supposed to pay you in dollars, but this obviously doesnt take into account the scarcity of the dollar or Argentina's strict dollar controls.

What sucks is that those that do change it into pesos, give you a horrible exchange rate for it!

You don't say...

Is it possible to do the reverse? Send pesos here via Western Union to the U.S and get dollars. If so, does anyone know if the exchange rate is near the "official rate"?

No, you can't send from here. But I thought you might be able to receive.
