Getting out of town: suggestions for day trips

Any suggestions on fun places to go for the day, be it to do a bit of tourism/walking around, photography - or just chilling somewhere different (eg day resorts with pools or near water).

Have heard of some places around Tigre - any others ...?

LUJAN (basilica, river, big museum) - 1.5 hours from the city.
SAN PEDRO (river, spas) - 2 hours from the city.
CHASCOMUS (lake, colonial) - 2 hours from the city.
MONTE (lake, small nice town)- 1.5 hours from the city.
LA PLATA - 1 hour from city: Museums (Natural Science), basilica, a different city.

Depends if you have your own vehicel or not...

walk around ..photography.... jump on the ferry and head to Colonia Uruguay.. it is a day trip i think!!! but Tigre is very nice and just a nice train ride!!!!
