Going To Arte Ba, This Weekend ?

Be prepared for a big disappointment I went, yesterday. IMHO, it was horrible.

I have been a couple of times. I wont make it this year.
I am interested in why you thought it was horrible.
I have found a pretty wide range of kinds of art when I have gone, from historic stuff, to very contemporary work.
I usually like the Barrio Joven booths the best, with young artists from around south america.
But I like contemporary art, and am friends with enough Argentine artists that I will know some of the work, and have "friend bias" for certain works.

Last year there were a couple of dozen foreign galleries, from Europe and other South American countries, with interesting work.

It is, mostly, pretty modern stuff, so if you are looking for classic painting from centuries past, you wont find much you like.

There is a charge for admission. I went several times (2007-2009). I skipped it the last year I was in CF and would rather visit the Museo Bellas Artes (on Libertador) if I was there at the same time arteba was being held.

Admission to the Museo is free of charge. Be sure to visit the second level which features Argentine art in chronological order.
