Friend reports very good experience on Areolineas Argentinas to New York. Food better than American Airlines, on time and schedule better (leaves JFK at 16:30 and arrives around 04:30 AM which makes it easy to get into the city and work the same day). Only complaint: seems Aerolioneas never answer their 800 number in the US. Said he tried many times on different days and they simply don't answer.

According to Skytrax, an entity which ranks the top 100 airlines in the world, Aerolineas Argentinas doesn't even figure in the top 100 for 2018 (nor has it ever in any year). Delta Airlines and Alaska Airlines come in at 37 and 38, respectively. American Airlines, which one poster ridiculed on this thread, was ranked 71.

But AA is the 5th best in South America. LOL. Right behind customer service stalwarts like Avianca, Azul, LATAM and Sky.

Why would anyone fly an airline that can't even crack the top 100?

Why would anyone post in this forum about a flight their friend took?

Can you imagine what this forum would look like if everyone posted about their friends' experiences on flights?

I only grew Aerolineas once - over twenty years ago. It was fine. Another time I was meeting someone in Rome who was coming from BA om Aeroloneas and they were having strikes with a lot of cancellations. Fortunately that flight was not cancelled but I've been afraid to fly them since, Anyway I reported a good experience for what it's worth. Their schedule, in my opinion, is much better than the other airlines.

Please! People post on everything - and I posted because there is a lot negativity said about Aeroloineas but this was a good experience. I also wan ted to mention the convenient schedule.

I've flown Aerolineas many times and never a bad experience.

Because Aerolineas is socialist trash, its employees receive compensation far above market norms. This makes efficient and affordable air transportation less accessible for the average Argentine. The introduction of low-cost airlines to Argentina has allowed thousands of people who prevoiously could not afford flights on Aerolineas Argentinas, to efficiently and affordably travel to see their great country and/or loved ones.

Aerolineas Argentinas benefits the few (AA employees) at the expense of the many (all Argentine consumers, including foreign travelers). Low cost airlines are reversing that equation.

I fly Aerolineas at least a couple of times a month and I think its a v good flight. The flights are good - on time, pleasant. Since they are expensive, usually empty! Food is OK ( Turkey sandwiches). No inflight entertainment. I usually read books in flights, so don't care.

However, most air hostesses are very cold like ice.

And the staff at Ezeiza ( at Sky elite) ...is super super rude..

But I prefer AA to LATAM or Copa or Sky or Avianca

For example, Copa flights which leaves at 1 am...from EZE..they try to feed u at 2 am and 5 am by switching on the lights and shaking u up till u accept the meal!!! NEVER take that flight. worse flight on the planet.

Avianca business class is very good, cheaper than COPA economy. The morning flight from EZE , 8 am to Bogota.

The LATAM flight, economy from Sao paolo to London, Santiago to NYC are very good...their local flights here are awful. usually packed and 100% full.
