Has Anyone Used A Us. Credit Card Lately?

We purchased groceries a few days ago and paid with our US. credit card. We had not used a credit card here in Argentina for several years , so had no idea about the exchange. Checked our account online and the exchange rate was pesos 10.70 for the dollar from our bank. Anyone out there with a similar experience?

i made a purchase yesterday of $870 and my credit card is showing a charge in dollars of $102.50 so it looks like Im getting the official rate. you must have lucked out!!

I think that I did luck out. I am planning to use the cc again and see if I get the same rate. Used it only because where I am living now, there is no xoom office and am dollar short.

Yeah I had the same experience, an $800 peso charge that showed a bit under $100 USD in my account. I never use credit cards here, now. It was the first time in almost three years - I was caught out in an emergency (avoidable, of course) and had to use my credit card...
