HELP- Podiatrist (foot doctor) recommendations

I broke my ankle over the weekend and have spoken with two different foot specialists. One recommends surgery, the other doesn't. I'm in a great deal of pain and would like for this all to blow over AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.

I'm doing some research on the doctor (the one who recommends surgery and that I'm not too fond of) that my insurance works with but can't seem to find much online. Does anyone know of a BA doctor's listing that's online where I can check out their education/work history?

Has anyone worked with a podiatrist here or had ankle surgery?

I'm freaking out....

ALPI is a very good traumatologyc clynic, call 4821-1200 / 4823-6244. I think they have an emergency service. Good luck!

What you probably want is an "Ortopeda" that will know what to do with foot injuries, and not a Podiatrist. My partner went to Dr. Sperone for an injury (http://www.citot.com.ar/equipo.html) and he was good, but speaks no English.
