I arrived at Ezeiza on Monday morning at about 6:30. I saw 3 men in the baggage claim area who had to be taliban or taliban wannabes. They were dressed in full regalia. A movie wasn't being filmed and Halloween was 4 month away. Maybe they just decided to come to come to Argentina to celebrate ramadan. Possibly, they were off to Punta?
Maybe, I'm jumping to conclusions, but this seemed really scary.

So, they were carrying automatic weapons? Maybe it was just these folks: http://tinyurl.com/26aj85c

No, I never said that they were carrying weapons. They looked as if they were "Dressed to Kill".

Oh, you mean like this

?

Seriously, could you be a bit more specific about what made them look so scary? Being from the mideast, I would like to know so I can avoid being labelled a terrorist at Ezeiza.

  • Initial reaction: WTF! "dressed in full regalia" implies "taliban or taliban wannabes"?
  • later: hang on, maybe they had guns? Escort for a VIP perhaps?
  • later: guns in arrivals, not very likely I guess
  • later: they probably wore turbans or something
  • but: could that really label them as taliban to the OP?
  • finally: this has got to be a wind-up. ... touché OP. You got me :)

That's how some Sikhs got into trouble in the US after 911.

Hopefully, just an ultra minority of Muslims are extremists(same stuff with the other religions), otherwise we'd be in big trouble.

That being said, I was once waiting in the Madrid airport and 3 or 4 Muslim guys were talking nearby in French, quite loudly, dressed with a djellabah, etc.
One guy was the main talker, the other guys were listening.
He was comparing women with dogs, pointing out the fact it's allowed to hit them. amazing
