For those of you wanting to get a higher level of protection given the circumstance you will find this useful and I do believe it is accurate. I would go with 3 layers myself one layer tight to try and get a good airway seal and then 2 layers less tight over that. Mostly it is trying to get a seal of your air ways and then the blockage in my thinking.

Thanks - very informative. I hand-stiched a two-layer T-shirt mask - quite breathable. To keep it tight against the face, it helps to put over it a ring cut from a pantyhose leg.
