Hi there. I'm new to Buenos Aires (I have visited a few times) and wanted to check out the two big race tracks.

Does anyone have any tips or fun recos for visiting either Hipodromo de Palermo or Hipodromo de San Isidro?

Thanks.

The Hipodromo of Palermo also has a world class casino which rivals any in Las Vegas. The grounds are meticulously maintained, well secured and safe. There are restaurants in the casino and food stands in the racetrack arena. It's a visit you'll remember and bring your camera. Am not sure on which days they have horse racing.

I think the season might be over. My wife and I went, we got out tickets online at Ticketek.com.ar. It was a lot of fun, but what we didn't know was the ticket actually gets you in for two matches, one in the afternoon and one later in the day.

Even without matches Bocha is open and you can have food and hang out there, which is also really nice. Across the street is the casino and horse racing track which can be fun too. They have a lot of little food events on that side with pop-ups.

Lollapalooza is in the polo club this year I think, too.

I have not been to either track since the pandemic. If you go to the website, search Hipodromo de Palermo, the race calendar is shown. Next race dates are 13 Jan and 16 Jan. No luck with San Isidro for me, the old website was suspended and I am not inclined to buy an advance admission
