Hunger and poverty have risen abruptly over the past 2 years

The amount of people on the streets now in Palermo is higher than its ever been since I arrived in 2004 . Argentina though is not the west and families help each more meaning fewer people on the streets . Also the drug problems in Buenos Aires are not of the levels of cities like Seattle Washington . Portland Oregon , San Franscisco , Vancouver Canada and Sydney Australia all terribly blighted by homelss people due to drug addictions, What is incredible in these cities is that local governments are doing nothing to stamp out the root cause .

Every time the dollar goes up one cent thousands fall below the poverty line.....? Is this realistic ? What has changed for the family that today fell below the line (without knowing)? Just a number for the Press to mention? To be used for Political purposes? No mention on how to come to their Aide? Socorro!

Stalin's famous sentence: "Three , four , Five deaths is a tragedy, three million is just a number!"

What scare's a poor/hungry Argentine more than being poor/hungry?View attachment 6189
Are yu suggesting the grave or hard work? Shorter life span is becoming a more realistic prospect than employment. I am appalled but not surprised by the disdain shown for people thrown out of work and facing rocket inflation here. Lots of people in USA who have two or three basic jobs still struggle to feed their families. Being rich or poor in Argentina is largely a matter of luck at birth. Anyone here employing a domestic for very low wages knows how hard people work.

Work is their kryptonite. Will reply more later currently working.

Margarita Barrientos said there are jobs to be had, but not enough people willing to take them. The Venezuelans immigrants are working - perhaps in menial jobs, but working.
