Someone claimed to be from FiberTel promoting adding Personal cellular service to my internet service for almost the same monthly payment.

Only after sending my DNI by WhatsApp (as she reuested) that I started to have doubts if she is a legit FiberTel employee.

If not legit, how could DNI be misused?
What are the risks?

People writing letters to La Nacion provide their DNI and the newspaper publishes it with the letter.

So, hardly it is considered to be a sensitive information.

Thank you.
Also, I went to Personal, they confirmed it is a legit promotion. Todo tranqui.

Amazing to see so much info in public.
DNI number, CUIT/CUIL, what vehicle do you own, real-estate property, criminal record, .....

Additional question though:
Is there any sensitive info on the DNI that must be kept protected? e.g. finger-prints, other codes, ...

Nothing at all that must be protected?
Is ALL DNI info public?

I bought an electric kettle and they wanted my DNI. I said no, I am paying effectivo.

Do you already have Cablevision/Fibertel or Personal? Because if you do, they already had your DNI number.

Title should´ve read: "I Gave Photos of my DNI"
Instead of: "I Gave my DNI"

FiberTel had only my DNI number.
They did not have photos (front and back) of my DNI.

Now, after knowing and seeing that a lot of the DNI info is public knowledge, I´m asking:
Is ALL info on the DNI photo public knowledge?
And absolutely nothing needs to be protected.
