Pleased to join the community. I have plans to move to BA in January to teach English. A friend suggested I take a look at this site so I'd have realistic expectations about the move. I gather that TEFL/TESOL programs are a waste of money, teaching doesn't pay well, not all expats in BA are enjoying their experiences, and racism is a veritable concern. I'm still pretty excited about the move. Any and all advice is appreciated, as are job and housing leads, and early extensions of friendship.
