Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself - My name is Sandy and my partner and I will be arrive in Buenos Aires in November. Very much looking forward to skipping one Canadian winter.

I am a yoga instructor/ Digital Marketing consultant and my partner is a Structural Engineer. We're both characteristically "friendly" Canadians and really active (running, cycling, yoga, skiing etc).

We have rented an apartment on Av Coronel Díaz in Palermo/Recoletta and are willing to receive any recommendations or advice on what to do (specifically good restaurants to check out in the area).

Also does anyone have suggestions on where to practice yoga? Or any info on spin classes in BA?

Cheers and looking forward to chatting.

Hello Sandy,

I have just joined baexpats and happened to see your post while looking for posts on bicycling in BA. I am from India and work in the embassy of India....regarding practising yoga we could give you information depending upon how you want to practice.

As I have just bought a cycle for myself...and am new to BA as well, any idea if you have come across groups who come meet occasionally to cycle together to explore some interesting part of BA...as I have been told that cycling alone is not all that safe here..

Hope you are enjoying your stay in Palermo...

Welcome! You chose an excellent place to stay. You're in a safe neighborhood and near the Palermo parks! It will be a bit pricey though..

I live a block from Coronel Diaz. Lots of good food in the area. Depends where, of course- the street is a mile or so long. But near Santa Fe, you should check out El Sanjuanino- is on Bustamente, just off Santa Fe-

really good empanadas, not expensive, muy tipico.
down at the Honduras end, you are not too far from Punto y Banca, a hole in the wall pizzeria where I go to eat Fugazzeta on Honduras.

Or, at the Las Heras end, you will be a short walk from Jauja, the patagonian ice cream place with incredible fruit flavors.

For food, in general, you cant go wrong with Pick up the Fork.

Hi Sandy!
My name is Caitlin and my fiancé and I arrived in Buenos Aires 2 days ago. I'm a Pilates instructor (I have my yoga certification too) and my fiancé is a civil engineer. When I saw your post the coincidences were too strong not to respond (we're also Canadian!)! I would love a yoga buddy, or someone to just explore with while Alex is at work. I don't speak Spanish yet, so teaching for me is going to be a bit tough for a while, and until then I'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands. Let me know if you'd like to meet up!
