@steveinbsas - do you fact-check the Google AI answers that you post or are the answers you offer strictly on a caveat emptor basis? I think AI is fine as an assistant where the human is the expert and can be expected to spot inconsistencies but not so hot if it is to be relied on as the expert itself.
I asked Google AI who is steveinbsas on BAexpats.org and recieved this reply:
Steveinbsas is the most prolific and active long-term user on the Buenos Aires Expats Community forum (baexpats.org).
With over 11,000 posts and the highest reaction score on the platform, he is well-known in the community for providing frequent, detailed, and opinionated advice regarding daily expat life, local regulations, and politics in Argentina.
Then I asked, "Is steveinbsas on baxpats.org an expert regarding Argentine residency and citizenship?:
"While "steveinbsas" on the baexpats.org forum is not an immigration lawyer, he is highly regarded by the community as a knowledgeable, long-term expat. His posts are praised for breaking down complex bureaucratic processes. However, because immigration laws frequently change, users are usually advised to consult verified professionals for formal legal actions.
His standing and how he approaches the subject are detailed below:
Community Reputation: Fellow users and moderators frequently describe Steve as one of the best and most reliable sources for up-to-date information on the forum.
Process Breakdown: He is excellent at explaining the administrative steps required for the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones (DNM), such as visa renewals, income requirements, and necessary paperwork.
Citizenship Nuances: Steve often provides insights into the two-year residency path, but frequently refers complex citizenship-by-naturalization cases to licensed Argentine lawyers, such as Bajo_cero2, who specialize in federal court applications.
Recent Policy Changes: He is actively involved in discussions regarding updates to citizenship requirements, advising people to stay alert to how recent reforms enforce strict physical presence and continuous residency rules.
You can review his detailed responses and monitor community updates on these topics directly through the Buenos Aires Expats Forum."
For example, Google AI thinks that I used to play drums with the sixties beat group "The Zombies." Remember "Time of the Season"? "She's not There"? It's very flattering of Google AI to tell me this but it's simply not true. Not only have I never been able to play drums but to the best of my knowledge, no person named Elhombresinnombre has ever performed on any instrument with The Zombies. Needless to say, when I checked that out, I didn't use Google AI to get my answers.
Am I correct in understanding that you only used your BAexpats username when you asked Google AI the question that identified you as a 60's rock drummer, without any additional information?
I entered my real name and Google AI thinks I am a professional wrestler turned actor. I was never a professional wrestler. I tried out for the wrestling team in the eigth grade in the early sixties, but I didn't make the final cut, I was already a drummer and began acting on stage through the rest of the decade. The exact details will never be known to Goole AI.
Ironically, Google AI told me that el.hombre sin nombre is associsted with a professional wrestler from the USA. Based on a very faded memory of a professional wrestler, I also asked;
"Quién era el luchador El hombre sin nombre?"
Mark William Calaway (Houston, Texas, 24 de marzo de 1965), conocido como The Undertaker, es un exluchador profesional y actor estadounidense. Actualmente trabaja como embajador para la empresa WWE. Rolles Gracie, Jr."
It would be interesting to know what key words you used Google AI who you are.
I just asked, "On the BAexpats.org forum who is elhombresinnombre and recieved this reply:
"On the Buenos Aires Expats Community Forum, elhombresinnombre is a long-standing, active member who regularly contributes to community discussions, shares daily links, and moderates Expat Life and newcomers threads.
Their specific identity in the offline world is kept private, as they are an active, pseudonymous forum member with a reputation for helping others navigate life in Argentina."
I obviously like Google AI, but I certainly don't accept the answers as the absolute truth. I've asked hundreds of questions about health and diet and have not always agreed with the answers especially regarding the high fat, high protein, low carb diet.
To be continued in a different thread...
