Hey everyone,

Currently trying to get a feel for the technology sector in BA. I have solid skills with Linux (RH, Mint, Fedora, Ubuntu, etc.), Windows (XP, 7, 2003, 2008) and Mac (OSX 10.7) on the OS side. Have quite a bit of storage knowledge (FC, FCoE, iSCSI, vCloud, EMC, Dell, HP, Brocade, etc.) and am decent with networking. Excellent with hardware troubleshooting and fixing. I am currently doing a lot of design and architecture work with my mentor, only been doing it for about six months, but I have a real grasp on it and have done some pretty large and intensive designs.

I feel like I've droned on long enough about this. Was just hoping someone could point me in the right direction or if they knew if an expat was hiring someone in this field.

Thanks!

Kevin

You should be able to find a good selection of jobs in this field. There is a job board called "UniversoBit" that specializes in IT jobs. I known of several people who have found IT jobs from this board. There are also still a lot of software factories here, so if you have programming skills, flaunt those as well. Many companies are looking for PHP and LAMP skills as well as web related like JAVA and JOOMLA.

Thanks, will definitely check that out. PHP seems to be a dead language, I know the basics of it. My LAMP could be better, so could my JAVA, but I built my wife's company's website through Joomla. :)

if you are here legal apply at Google pm me if you want.

I think my account is too new to allow PMs, just gives me an error screen when I try to backdoor through it since the front end part isn't available.

I am back in the US currently. I have put in my application for a work Visa though. Hoping to get that approved here very shortly.
