Hello fellow expats! I was just offered a job at a large multinational company, although I would be outsourced through a 3rd party, as an IT team lead. I´m a permanent resident and can work legally. What would be a fair salary for this position? I would be in charge of supervising 5 people in different Latam countries. I was offered 10k pesos monthly gross, is this a fair deal? Any recruiters or IT specialists on board that can give me their input, it would be much appreciated! :)

15 to 18 tho

In Argentina you will be lucky to get more than 10.

10K gross is a pretty good salary. My bro-in-law makes 10K net for the same title, but he is in charge of 10 developers and has worked in the company for quite a while. Whichever way you look at it, after 3 or 4 months of trial, it is pretty normal to ask for a 10-20% raise, not least of all to cover inflation.

my bf does something similar and that is an ok start. not a brilliant salary but for here it's not so shabby.

Thank you so much for all your replies :) I guess then 10k is fair but I should ask for a raise after say 5-6 months to catch up with inflation, etc? I know I would feel a bit awkward about it, I am not used to asking for 20% raises a few times a year, but I guess that is the custom here? I have noticed that IT salaries are not that great compared to other activities ( cab drivers, Moyanistas, etc )

10K for team lead seems on par with my experiences... I was offered ~7200 for Mid-Snr developer

10k gross is around 8k in hand...Not the best, not the worst, but somewhere in between that for the position type.
Also, beware... being contracted by a 3rd party (not the multinational itself) WILL make a difference, if not in money, at least in how the company treats you and what kind of perks and possibilities you have for growth. I'd seriously research them before moving to another country on a promise.

Hey George, 10K sounds pretty low for a Lead role. I just placed a Jr Consultant with a SW Company with no direct reports and about 4 yrs of experience and his comp was 10,500 per month.

Some of the more Sr candidates I place here are making upwards of 16K.

Again, all companies have their budgets but 10K for a Mgr seems low to me.
