Job Opening: Project Development Coordinator
Founded in 1995, the Asociación por los Derechos Civiles (ADC) is a Buenos Aires-based, non-partisan NGO working to guarantee respect for civil and constitutional rights in Argentina and Latin America. The principle program areas of the ADC include justice reform, access to public information, freedom of expression, anti-discrimination, and right to education. The ADC Project Development Coordinator works closely with the Project Development Director (Sandra Elena), the Executive Director (Alvaro Herrero), and the Institutional Coordinator (Mariela Belski). The Coordinator also collaborates with the Directors of the ADC program areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
§ Grant writing: Write grant proposals and concept notes, in collaboration with the ADC Program Directors, to present to possible funders.
§ Funding research: Identify and investigate potential funding sources and evaluate their compatibility with the mission and goals of the ADC.
§ Interim and end of project reporting: Work with ADC Program Directors to write and submit mandatory interim and end of project reports for funders.
§ Fund raising tracking: Oversee the fund raising database to track the ADC’s funding history, current funders, and possible funders.
§ ADC internship program: Manage contacts with current and possible law school partners, interview internship applicants, and provide general oversight of internships.
§ Other project development and international cooperation responsibilities, as needed.
Qualifications:
§ 3 or more years of work experience in project development and fund raising required.
§ Fluency in Spanish and English required. Native English speakers are strongly encouraged to apply.
§ Ability and desire to make a two-year commitment to the ADC.
§ Skill in managing multiple tasks at once, meeting deadlines, and working independently and in a team. Initiative and an ability to follow through essential.
§ Excellent interpersonal skills in relationship management and in written and oral communications.
§ Undergraduate degree required. Graduate level study in civil rights, human rights, public policy, law, or nonprofits is preferred, but not required.
§ Prior knowledge of civil and human rights issues is a plus.
