....Seven of the first 12 people tested in Balvanera are infected
Seven of the 12 residents of Balvanera who had been swabbed yesterday during the door-to-door operation turned out to be infected with coronavirus . The other five suspected cases were negative. While those samples were analyzed, today, on the second day of actively searching for infected people in that neighborhood, 47 people were swabbed for having symptoms compatible with the disease. The promoters visited 23 homes.
The objective of the initiative is to identify early on the close contacts of the 84 inhabitants of that neighborhood recently confirmed with Covid-19, evaluate them and mitigate the contagiousness of the virus. If they are in healthy conditions, it is the patients already confirmed who give notice to their cohabitants that two to three promoters will go through the house to try to determine if the virus has spread in that residence .
In all cases, they are close contacts of the last people in that neighborhood who had been diagnosed with Covid-19 days ago.

Balvanera returned today to be the center of attention of the City in the fight against the pandemic. According to the protocol, the identified people who presented any symptoms were swabbed in the sanitary truck that was installed to one side of Plaza Manzana 66 and then transferred to a Febrile Emergency Unit (UFU) until the result of the test is known.....

Following the articles details - Balvanera, think Abasto Shopping Center and surrounds.
Retiro and Flores, the areas are most affected by the detection of cases in Villas 31 and 1-11-14.
Barracas and Villa Lugano had a significant increase in infected in the last week.

A very elementary question? 11008 infected and 3881 recovered.. ! what is the status of the (11008 minus 3881) cases?

It seems San Telmo is not as dangerous as many think.

The numbers do not seem to reconcile against the Federal Ministry of Health situation room (what a surprise...)

For example they are showing 1936 cases in Retiro (comuna 1) and 104 in Palermo (comuna 14) vs. 2613 in Retiro and 323 in Palermo. Not sure if one is considering "active" cases only or someone is just paid to enter random numbers into a spreadsheet and upload them.

I have noted that the MoH data has varied wildly over the past few weeks. At one point there were almost 6000 cases showing for comuna 1 and suddenly thousands vanished!

There was a period of time that they disabled the by barrio view and numbers were all over the show, hence I took to recording it guessing they would change them to be convenient in future...

In my opinion, the stats may be read as 11008 infected and 3881 recovered cases. The status of the infected cases are "in progress", whether currently hospitalized in intensive care units (ICU), critical care units (CCU) or quarantined at home. Whereas the 3881 cases which are counted as recovered have returned to their "normal" activities.

The status of the infected cases are "in progress", whether currently hospitalized in intensive care units (ICU), critical care units (CCU) or quarantined at home. Whereas the 3881 cases which are counted as recovered have returned to their "normal" activities.

Very interesting so 7,127 (11008 minus 3881) are being treated in progressin some sort or fashion somewhere...!
