Well, that was an entertaining read.

Of course, I knew about Nahuelito, and indeed I have posted a picture of her here in these very forums. But I didn't know about some of the history included in the article, including a reference to Argentina's very own Bigfoot. I had a neighbor in San Diego who claimed to have seen Bigfoot up close and personal, and even been chased around a car by him/her/it. Then again, Millie was an ex-Navy medic who had done 4 tours in the sandbox, and after that worked with the UN digging up mass graves in the former Yugoslavia. Nobody is unaffected by such experiences. Nice girl, but a bit touched.

Back on topic, I was more interested by a side-link to an article about Sir Edmund Hillary hunting for Yeti in 1961. There's an amusing picture of Hillary with Marlin Perkins, who was then a zoo director, but whom I remember as the host of "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom", a rather classy wildlife documentary series that aired from 1963-88.
