Hi All,

I'm looking for a replacement PSU for my computer (the previous one, a Sentey, gone done a green smoke on me recently).

What I'm looking for would be upper-end of the comsumer range, and I'm having some trouble sourcing it. Specifically it needs to power 2 nvidia 980 ti's (they're rated at 250W each, but I'm allowing about 350W each from experience) and some other bits and pieces, which means either a good 1000W supply, or a less good 1200W one (preferably the former).

I found a place called tranders in belgrano, which supposedly has Antec PSUs (among other brands) which would do the job. But on contacting them it turns out their website is a work of creative fiction (ie. was probably true some time in the past)

Anyone know a place?

On a related note - I'm looking for a larger monitor (26 or 27"), not a tv, that doesn't cost an arm & leg. (maybe that's wishful thinking?)

thanks in advance!

(apologies if this is the wrong sub-forum for this)

I just bought a Cooler Master 750 watt PSU in the States a couple of months ago and brought it down here (note - not shipped) because I knew I might have a hard time finding even a 750 watt here. You may be able to find one, or get some specialty shop to import it for you, but I'm not thinking you'll have a very good probability of getting it.

Even before all the import limitations imposed by the outgoing government, it was difficult to get computer parts here that were up to date - usually about 2-3 years behind.

You might be better off finding someone who is coming down to bring you a power supply.

The monitor - well, I've made due with Samsung 24" because it's so difficult to find anything else and that's apparently the biggest they make assemble in Patagonia.

Good luck!

Saw a lot of 400-600, and even a 750 watt and an 850 watt, but no 1000 - 1200. And maybe one of those advertising the 850 or 750 watt would actually have it.

I went to Galaeria Jardin about 6 months ago and couldn't find a 700 watt at the time.

I specialise in gaming machines up here in Olivos and have a number of good sources for PSUs, GPUs etc.
PM me if you wish.

@ElQueso: sounds like you've covered the same ground as me! That's my fallback plan also (buy a cheap one now, don't use the GPUs, and bring a good one with me at xmas). And re the monitors - I'm vearing towards going with 2 smallers monitors instead.

@johnniewalker: that's where I found tranders! (although maybe not - I don't see their ad there now). Mercadolibre is always something of a lottery though.

@HenryNisental: I tried several places on Monday, and came to the conclusion that it's not a walk-in-off-the-street kind of thing to buy. Hence the post here first :)

@thorsten: that looks really promising! Will contact them today, fingers crossed :)

@Gordon Freeman: You in the trade? Will pm you in a min.

thanks again all, appreciate the help very much!
