Apparently the power surged and one of my two 30 inch monitors (I use them for work @ home) got irreversibly screwed up...I'm looking to buy another monitor (30 inch if possible but I'd consider something a bit smaller. So if anyone is selling, I'd consider buying in order to avoid the hassle of getting one shipped...

The LCD may still be salvageable...before you throw it out the window, can you please let me know if it's been checked properly by a qualified electronics tech? Power Surge could mean many things, how do you know it was a power surge? Who advised you that it was a 'power surge'? ...or is there a fault within the LCD's internal power supply..it could alos be a blown fuse, capacitor, transistor etc etc.

A lot of the time I have been able to restore bad electronic circuits, it's one of my favorite jobs. I would suggest that you don't throw it out just yet, even if you have already bought a new one.
