"How many dictators has Argentina supported freely ? Those governments were imposed on us by outsiders like Henry kissinger and his band of evil men that supposedly are once again from the freedom loving west ."

Deluded nonsense. Balderdash. Hogwash. Bunk.

This place has been a republic since the early 1800s. The society is responsible for their past, present, and future. See!! This is one of the problems here. Its allllllllll someone elses fault. I trust the average person here as far as I can throw them.

It seems that you are talking about yourself Brocolli as you are always blaming others and spreading lies and misinformation to create a smokescreen to your own defects.

And most argentinians do not trust you either byebye..............................

cabrera, as a New Zealander I would recommend you check your facts before you make such comments about my country. New Zealand didn't and does not support either of the wars currently being fought.

You have had one prime minister who had the balls to tell the USA where to go and she was a woman Helen Clark but even she in the end caved in and sent so called special advisers to Iraq .
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2003/jun2003/newz-j21.shtml

Please read New Zealands military history which shows clearly its lapdog status for all of the unjust wars of this century. New Zealand has no excuse for this as it is not part of Europe and is an island apart with very little outside threats.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_history_of_New_Zealand

New Zealand glorifies war as witnessed by its Anzac tradition. To the suprise of many Argentinians abhor war and violence and mostly use words to express our anger as witnessed by our passionate citizens.

Yeah for sure it's their own fault. I mean all other Latin American countries are so prosperous. Surely it has nothing to do with U.S imperialism.

So....the list, ranking corrupt countries - that's connected to New Zealand's historical alignment/involvement in past wars, how, exactly?

Hey cabrera, here's a challenge for you - if I start a thread titled "Pink is a nicer colour than orange", how long will it take you to accuse me of starting WW2, denouncing all Europeans as American lapdogs and claiming that no Argentinian has ever told a lie?

It doesnt surprise me that Chile and Uruguay are so high up the tables, you just have to look where NZ companies invest in south america.. and it aint argentina.. i am surprised where arg is though, they are usually down around Zimbabwe in most surveys of this nature.. so maybe things are getting better here..

Gosh! some of you people are so blinded by the propaganda feed by your respective countries that will be funny if it wasn't for the crude and true reality.

Lets see Chile for a second, in the beginning of the 70's Allende socialism was the choice by popular vote in that country, but the elite like anywhere else won't let relinquish their power on the economy or the political spectrum to the masses, so the military as always was there to give them a hand, over all this layers there was USA looking for excuses to get involved to suppress this kind of behavior in all the subcontinent cause it won't spread to much and become uncontrollable by them...so far so good.

Pinochet in power and the happy times are here again that give a solution the socialism tread, now they must support the dictatorship to show the world but particularly Latin America that's the way is to go USA capitalistic doctrine or else.

At the same time Argentina and Uruguay went on the same path, nice dictatorships supported by good old USA and never criticized or opposed, what about hypocrisy here guys? from the land of the free.

Pinochet gone but still on the command seat with the military machine behind until he die, as for the government that followed there was given total support not to let them fall, Argentina was a different nut case on his own with the generals in conflict Chile and Argentina and later the Malvinas war it was to complicated, so it was left simmering on the back burner for the moment, with the fracas of the Malvinas war over and now the military regime in Argentina gone they must fin another kind of strategy to support the regime so the game must had to be changed.

The main idea was to continue supporting them in the short term at least Frei in Chile and Menem in Argentina to show to the world an Latin America as new models of capitalism and to make sure socialism as model is not a very good idea in general, so Argentina in particular went to adopt full neoliberalism at is worst, selling the grandma jewellery their soul and the kitchen sink in the process, and finished as we all well know in a total disaster and misery for this country.

With Argentina gone for the moment they focused on Chile to rise as a new wash down model, support come as investments in the mineral and infrastructure sector particularly from Canada, NZ and massively from Australia to show that it was not coming so obviously from the States but to spread the control from their allies in the multinationals and financial world.

So far so good for Chile, how long it would last?...as long they have some mineral left in the ground then when all that is gone good luck and good bye Chile and lets move on and go to suck the natural resources from another some poor third world country until their are dry off, the lust for blood never ends in a vampire world.

This kind of argies defending the corruption and misery (aka Kirchners) are the same ones that supported Menem back in the 90´s. Im a local and I absolutely have no clue as to why they do it. This is typical behavior here (of this kind of ppl). There´s no way to defend their ideals so whenever confronted they attack throwing "facts" at your face (these facts for some reason are not debatable, they are as they say and that´s that eheh)
About this thread. It does not sorprise me at all our position in the list, i really have no idea about corruption levels in other countries (i do know about the quality of life our neighbors are livng compared to ours).
Just as with Menem (well, actually even more so now) the presence of corruption is absolutaly everywhere. If our current administration is involved in any way, you dig up a little bit and corruption shows up magically. The amount of poverty and unjustice are stunning. Frankly, whether other countries are more or less corrupted than mine makes no difference to me (provided im not living in any of those countries and therefore am affected by it). Corruption in my country really disturbs me and if the rest of the world is pointing it out (regardless there´s a "hidden" agenda or not) makes it all even worse. We are the laughing stock of the world (at least of those who even know we exist) and I find it disturbing as well since i really believe we have the potencial (very well hidden though) of becoming a great nation and not the corrupted banana republic we currently are.
The truth is that here, for some unknown (to me at least) reason, ouf of all the persidencial candidates the most populist (aka corrupted) ones end up winning (and even worse...re-elected - aka menem and the kirchner clan). I try to find the reason and nothing sane comes out. I can only imagine the confussion on folks from abroad living here, to them i bet is even more obvious how ridiculous we are when voting (and then even more so when supporting them while we are being openly screwed by them).
About the whole "is always someone else´s fault" theory i find it disgusting. If polititians here were not corrupted then crap from the outside would not have effect here or at least it would be minimum. We are responsible entirely of all the bad things that ever happend here. We as ppl have always supported the worse kind of human beings are country can offer (that´s right, we even supported the last dictatorship which by they way also has its own "it was someone else´s fault" theory...amazing but true)
Anyway, as always, IMHO folks !

^^^^^^^

The CRAP of the last post is telling very much why Argentina have so many and corrupt problems here, people who supported the military and fascist regimes will continue doing so now and in future they are so close and short minded that they can't see faraway than their noses they still cooperating here and abroad with outsiders and foreign powers to keep this country as servants of the rich and powerful same as bygone era of colonialism, not quite so, they don't want to change their status in society they want to be on the top all the time and at whatever the cost even if they have to sacrifice their "own country" including the people to reach and protect their interest.

There is a lot of this kind of people still around hogging and dragging this country down, useful idiotic and brainwashed individuals in key positions and with assistance of corrupt and in many ways part of the square and useless militaries casts which are utilized by outsiders as condoms and then disregarded when their aren't anymore useful they will do anything to keep in submission their own kind to serve a foreign power, they don't have scrupulous and they don't have a country or a flag, they only have pockets, they are just useful idiots ready to be utilized. That is why we have so many problems here and in Latin America as a whole, Uribe, Alan Garcia and some other latter in this pool and category, a puppet government now in Ecuador to seed discord as the master orders, don't mention Panama another invisible star in the American flag and so many little useless but useful countries in central america and the Caribbean when their are needed to cast a vote in United Nations to sanctions one of them when they do not aligns to the wishes of their masters....what a joke.

Dude, what the hell are you talking about ? please focus on the subject and stop throwing "facts" like a headless chicken.
First of all, are you in anyway suggesting I support the military regime ?? if so, you can go fuck yourself ! (with all due respect that is)
trying to keep my status in society ? i work a 9 to 5 job in an office, granted, now adays that may be a privilege but i can garantee you im not by any means a rich person trying to hold on to my slavery ways and my prestiguous place in society. I could definately use a raise though, i guess im evil because of this as well.
Also, the only idiot trying to keep the status quo is you. Colonialism happend a long time ago. We are a republic and we have free elections hence we put the polititians that will later on decide the course of our country. If by your theory the rest of the evil world is trying to destroy us by injecting corruption and poverty (nice hollywood movie by the way) is only because polititians we elected allow that to happen. In this case, your beloved kirchner has been in total power pretty much the entire decade. According to me and many others he is responsilbe and the main benefeciary of the corruption going on. In your theory corruption exists but only because the world is forcing it upon us and poor Kirchner lies defenseless before it (of course, in the meantime becoming a multimillionare...though his feelings are still getting hurt causing him to cry everynight over the the terrible things the evil world is bringin upon his beloved people heheheheh)
The only reason this country is in such terrible shape is because it´s the only way corrupted polititians like Menem, Kirchner and many many others can get the amount of votes needed to win elections. To have a huge mass of ignorant poor ppl (and very easily manipulated) they can pretty much buy their vote with some "very humane" plans where they throw at them some money (in no way enough to even be considered poor) and then forcing them to go to rallies and whatnot in exchange. That´s right, lists are being kept and attendance is being monitored.
They deliverately maintain the status quo (yeps, the ppl you are defending) and they make sure they profit from it both both monetary and votes wise. And everything works out just fine for them. Make sure there´s always a certain amount of ppl being and remaining poor to manipulate, take any actions necessary for this to occur, get filthy rich in the meantime and then blame it on the US and Europe. With this great plan, everything remains the same and they keep winning elections and then being re-elected and getting richer and richer but they never take the blame for the bad things happeing, even though they are the ones in power making the decisions...
My goodness, i could go on and on, i bet most ppl reading this has already fallen asleep half way through it hehe.
As a rich evil genocide defending individual (and apparently also brainwashed follower of evil plans orquestrated by evil powers around the world set out to destroy argentina and their innocent un-corrupted leaders) I believe status quo on this country should change in order to have any hope of improvement. I´ve mentioned this before, the only good thing that can come out of the kirchner´s regime is that it unified almost every argentinian against them and hopfully this coming elections the whole peronista populista era will finally be over. I keep praying to satan (i guess that´s who i pray to since im apparently evil) this will occur.
