Memories of Irish Halloween rhyming...

In Ireland we never used to go trick or treating but rather Halloween rhyming. Forget fancy costumes, we wore our anoraks back to front reciting the typical rhyme to get money out of our neighbours, " Hallowe'en is coming and the goose is getting fat. Please to put a penny in the old man's hat. If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do. If you havent got a ha'penny God bless you and your old man too.".
We would wander the streets under 11pm at night, unaccompanied by adults with ne'er a care in the world. These festivities always make me think of my chilhood home. Just wanted to wish all expats a happy halloween and hope you are equally filled with good memories of a different time and culture...
