He didn’t reinstate it in January, it never even went away. The issue, still being debated as the headline clearly states, is the threshold at which progressive income tax rates (yes, just like in your country Australia) take effect, eg tax free allowance going from 15x the minimum wage to the proposed income of around $1000ish the it would start to be taxed (starting at 9%…) Don’t worry you’ll still only end up paying the top rate of 35% once your earning over like $6000 a month.
Having encountered similar comments from other posters, some long time expats understanding of basic Argentine tax concepts is truly shocking, presumably because they have never paid their fair share… yet they still hate libertarians…go figure.
