I’m planning on moving to Argentina later on this year permanently. I live in the UK in Surrey I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma when I was 35 years old now I’m 40. I’ve had several treatments including two stem cell transplants and I’m I’ve been on remission for 2 years now. Can you advise which hospitals specialise in this type of cancer in BA for regular check ups in case the myeloma does come back. Many thanks

You have a lot in your suitcase!! But if you research back in these logs will find a dearth of information. In your case....you need REAL information and you are a bit foolish to expect to find it here. There are websites that give comparison prices of procedures.....more or less prices in counties....but it is general information. I can tell you this....walk into a specialist...an expensive one....$25 dollars...could be less and could be more. And start with Hospital Aleman....it may the most expensive hospital.....they have an English staff of helpers to guide you.....and it is a JCI accredited hospital (important). With the new way pay with VISA at the Blue Dollar rate....If you are out of pocket I doubt that you could do better than Argentina for the money....and I am talking about the world.

It’s just a question. I speak fluent Spanish so I’ll be fine getting around. Thanks

Imo, Pavlovsky, Hospital Italiano, Instituto Lanari, Fundaleu, Fleming and Roffo are the best.

My experience with hospital italiano has always been positive, including with specialists (not cancer specialists) I have had to see. A bit stressful checking in for an appointment sometimes as it is a big place with a lot of people, but wait times have always been reasonable and I’ve been happy with the doctors. I can’t speak to the others mentioned. Recently a doctor at hospital italiano sent me to do some tests, but it was going to take a few weeks to get an appointment at the HI lab. So she recommended I go to Rossi for the lab tests and MRI. I had an appointment the next day and results that evening. Just keep in mind in case you need to get tests done.

Hospital Italiano is tops. It is the one the best medical students fight to get into when they graduate. As a teaching hospital, its doctors keep up to date with the latest in medical care.

The building itself is huge and parts of it are old, but the medical staff can't be beaten. The Hospital Aleman has a more modern building, but the staff is not as good. I've had the same procedure done in both hospitals, and the HI was better - far more thorough and professional.

Unfortunately nowadays, it is taking several months to get appointments with certain doctors or specialties in Hospital Italiano (lately the average is at least 3 to 5 months)

This is my experience as well.

The whole system is working like that unfortunately for multiple reasons.
