Hey everybody.
I am a semi-pro musician from California, and I am looking for other musicians like me.
I play guitar and sing. I can also play keys and bass, but I don't want to get into the logistics of moving keyboards or bass amplifiers.
Right now I have an urge to play roadhouse style rock n roll, but I am comfortable playing oldies, rock, blues, R&B, soul, disco, or funk.
My last band was an oldies cover band in southern California. We mostly played city sponsored "concerts in the park", and private events. We had pretty good success because all four musicians could sing. We could go from Blue Moon by the Marcels to a Beatle tune to Reach Out by the Four Tops, always matching the arrangement on the record. We had audiences of up to 15,000.
I have lived in BA for several years and have not met many serious musicians that have the time to get involved. It's always frustrating to try to meet musicians with similar mindset and talent level, and in a new city it is close to impossible.
I think I am more or less ideal for a good situation because I am stable financially, have no drug problem, I am very serious about the musical quality, and I have lots of experience on the stage. Also, English is my native language, and almost all rock and blues is in English. Porteños love rock and blues but struggle to sing in English.
In order to clue people in on what I do, I have made a few videos (from the office in my home) for YouTube. I tried to show things "what you see is what you get", so I didn't edit the audio like I would do if I was making a record. Please check them out.
Honky Tonk, an instrumental:

Boom Boom, a rocked up blues classic:

If you have any contacts, it would be great to know.
Thanks
