Hi Group,

A show that we did the local production for called "Scam City" in English (or "Turistas en la Mira" in Spanish) will be premiering on Nat Geo in Argentina.

http://www.natgeo.tv/ar/synopsis/10125-148852
It was by far the most dangerous show we have produced.

Is there anyone out there who has cable TV and could record a copy (on Tivo or. . . VCR?) that I could watch?
The show will premier on Monday at 9pm and then repeat late night twice.

thanks so much! Ginger
ps It is hard for me to get a copy from the producer because everyone who worked there is freelance.
pps I would love to hear thoughts on it, we produced it from http://www.santelmoproductions.com but we did not have final cut, so no idea how it turned out!

I cant find it on the Nat Geo channel for that date. Are you sure?

First on October 15, Monday, at 9 pm, then repeated.

Buenos Aires

This is on the basic cable and Direct TV NatGeo channel.

(Sorry for the multiple postings, but I am frustrated that so many posts on this site get sidewinded to "review" and disappear forever.)

Ill keep an eye out for it, Sounds interesting enough. Thanks for the heads up.

Segments of the Report were shown today in TN showing the tricks of the cabdrivers in BA.

Will watch if I remember. :)

How hard is it to record from a tv receiver to a dvd? Sounds complicated or else I'd offer to give you a copy. :p VHS used to be much simpler.

I think I can record it directly to mpeg2.
Have a capture card in my computer but I haven't used it since I got here, so I'll hook things up and test it tomorrow then confirm I can record it.
It is -NOT- HD though.

I'll let you know.

This could not be more timely for me. I work with tourists here in BA, and in the five years preceding this one, not one of my clients had issues with robberies/ pickpockets etc. I have always given basic warnings, of course, but there really didn't seem to be a need.

This year? Different story. All kinds of things happening, including false 100 peso notes being given in exchange for USD at the Banco de la Nación Argentina in EZEIZA. My current client was robbed on her way into town from the airport. My last clients were robbed once - the fake bird poo trick at Recoleta cemetery, no less - and had a second unsuccessful attempt made. In a week. Etc. I have been wondering how on earth to warn people without scaring them and also without making myself seem super paranoid!

It sounds like showing them a copy of this would be IDEAL. Is it available with subtitles in English and/ or Portuguese? I don't have a TV - would it be possible for someone to record it for me? I will make cookies for whoever can get me a copy!

Thanks.
