Obtaining residency through marriage

Sorry as I appreciate this is going over some well-trodden ground but all other posts seem to have been prior to Covid. Can anyone provide ballpark timings for how long it takes to obtain residency after getting married to an Argentine?

Depends on DNM. There is no specific timelines for marriage, it is same For all if the reason is "familiar argentino".
If they don't like something about your documents and you start arguing with them I.e. will go through their técnico jurídico team it can lasts for months or years, some people are never getting it even if they have spouse or child argentino as they can't fulfill all the requiremerments/can't win over it.

If everything is simple it can be 2-3-4 weeks till resolución and then 15- god knows how much days (maybe few months if you are unlucky and outside BA)for DNI to arrive.
