On-line bargain travel agencies

Hey all,

I'm looking for info on the Argentine equivalent of the bargain on-line travel sites like hotwire, expedia, priceline, etc.

The only one I know is despegar.com, which is fine, but I thought I'd check around.

Any tips? And any tips on getting cheap airfare out of BA or places that have last minute package deals to nice spots in South America?

There is an Argentino site, but it has a bad reputation AFAIK.

Using the internet you may find your ticket on any site in the world, try Momondo: http://tv2.en.momondo.com/Default.aspx where I usually find the cheapest offers.

Getting a cheap ticket out of BA is about as likely as a blizzard in BA. Occassionally, LAN.com has some really good fares if you book far in advance.Where do you want to go?
Check out: airninja, skyscanner, which budget, cheap tickets. It also might be a good idea to talk with a travel agent.

Despegar is the only local site I know of, though Priceline does have bidding options in Rio as well as Buenos Aires know days, and there can be some good had that way, you can look at betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com to see a list of recent winning bids for Priceline. There are also some tricks you can do with how you build a airline ticket that can shave of some considerable dollars at times though it is a lot harder as of late ex EZE as 2 of the main carries that were trick-able a few months ago are no longer able to be tricked. Despegar does sometimes have unpublished fares so it is good to keep checking there. If you give me an idea more specifically what, were, and when you are looking for I can give you some more specific tips.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll consult the sources mentioned. I'm going to Miami for 4th of July weekend, I see a ticket for about $900 USD on despegar, which is not outrageous. I'll pm angelskywalker as requested. Thanks again...

I'm looking to go the same time. Try American Airlines website because it gives you the prices for dates before & after to find you the best price.
