The Pope is reported to have renewed his Argentine cedula ID card and is going to travel on his Argentine passport.

Will he be queuing up with the rest of us at Ezeiza? Will he pay taxes on the value of his PBP (Papal benefits package - housing, health insurance etc.) Presumbaly he has no salary to declare.

Did he pay a gestor to expedite the new passport? How did he pay the renewal fee? If someone paid it for him, isn't that a gift that should be reported to the Argentine tax authorities?

Curious minds need to know.

Special treatment in the Embassy in Rome

Leave it be

He deserves it............

He should definitely get what he deserves.

looool....well the thing is even if he requires a visa he is not going to go through the bureaucratic procedures that is related to having an argentine celular ID...The papal office has got its own foreign office department which has something of an exclusive relationship with most countries. Any visa applications would surely be accompanied with diplomatic backing of some sort from the foreign office of the holy see.

Saw a piece about this on the news here in Canada yesterday. While it's puzzling that he reportedly prefers to travel using his Argentine passport--rather than a Vatican-issued one like previous Popes--they made a point of mentioning that he paid the renewal fee out of his own pocket. Hope you can sleep now. :)

The Pope travels by bus so he surely has a Sube card. Does he also have a Freddo Card? And what are his favorite flavors? I imagine Crema del Cielo or possibly Chocolate Italiano For sure he avoids Dulce de Leche Tentacion.

I wonder how many Freddo puntos he has accumulated.

Where did he get the money? Does the Pope have a salary? Does his cassock even have pockets?
