Hello,
Does anyone have recommendations for ultrasound specialists who are trained to do nuchal translucency scans? Our U.S. midwives are very particular with whom they'd refer us to in the states because it apparently requires specific equipment and skills. The scanning needs to be done during weeks 11-14 (so w/i the next 3.5 weeks for us) and we didn't really feel like cutting our trip short to fly back just for the scan.

Thanks!

My suggestion would be to call around to various hospitals (Otamendi is one famous for birthing) to see if they offer it; however, my hunch is that you're looking for something that may be more sophisticated than what is available here. I'd be curious to know if you find what you're looking for! Good luck.

I highly recommend Dr. Diego Calvo. Tel: 4824-2366. Address: Santa Fe 2992 '2D'. He speaks perfect English and he will clearly talk through everything you may need and his office has state of the art equipment.

Do you know if they have the type of scan the OP is looking for or should we just post the links of all the hospitals in BA? The site you link to doesn't mention nuchal translucency scans at all.

It's one of the best hospital in BA. It's not just any hospital. If they don't have it, I'll be surprised.
Tip: find out the name of it in Spanish and call them.

Hospital Italiano has 3D ultrasound, so I'm sure they can perform the nuchal scan.

The other is Galeno / La Trinidad -- the Galeno hospital near Jumbo probably has the facilities.

The other place you may want to call is Centro Diagnosticos Dr Rossi -- they have multiple centres and there is one in Barrio Norte.

I had one done in April with Dra. Carcano at TCba Salguero Centro de Diagnostico and it was very good (she speaks some English):
