During today's Press Conference it was mentioned by Pres. Fernandez that Spain is the 2nd. largest investor in Argentina after the USA, and would certainly bring new investments to Argentina, when others are leaving like Walmart or Falabella.

As endearing welcoming words Fernandez, misquoted the Mexican poet Octavio Paz, (Nobel Prize winner 1990) ."Los Mexicanos descienden de los Indios, los Brasileños de la Selva, y los Argentinos descendieron de los barcos.." (Mexicans descend from the Indians, Brazilians come from the jungle, Argentinians Descended from the Boats)

President? Last I checked Spain has a king, and Pedro Sánchez is prime minister.

EDIT: OK, turns out his title in Spanish is “presidente del gobierno”, which is true in the literal sense - he presides over the government.
But the structure of the government and his role in it is clearly the equivalent of prime minister in countries with legislatures modeled after the British one, which is why in English it is usually rendered that way.

EDIT 2: I was wrong to have called it merely “true in the literal sense”.
Turns out the Wikipedia article on the formal post clarifies this:
The Spanish head of government has, since 1938, been known in Spanish as the Presidente del Gobierno – literally "President of the Government", but the term 'president' is far older. Spain was not unique in this regard: it was one of several European parliamentary systems including France, Italy and Ireland that styled the head of government as 'presidents' of the government rather than the Westminster term of 'prime minister' (see President of the Council for the full list of corresponding terms); similarly, the president of the Congress or Senate referred to the parliamentary speakers. This system of multiple distinct offices all labelled 'president' causes confusion among English-speakers: both President George W. Bush and his brother, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, referred to José María Aznar as "president" on separate occasions, and Donald Trump referred to Mariano Rajoy both as "President" and "Mr. President" during Rajoy's 2017 White House visit. While this term of address was not incorrect, it could be culturally misleading to or for English-speakers, so that "prime minister" is often used as an inexact but culturally equivalent term to ensure clarity.
Good to have learned. Apologies for misunderstandings.

well there is some truth in these words. So what, we are all people. No reason to get upset.
No, there is not truth in his words, only ignorance, arrogance and racism. His speech trying to imply that Argentines are the "special people from Europe" while attempting to ignore hundreds of years of cultural and and genetic heritage from the natives is both despicable and unsurprising.

First off, Argentina isn't even as European as the Argentines think it is, and their national identity promotes. It is a just a myth build for the purpose of ''erasure'' of Amerindian identity. There is nothing "European" about walking around sipping hot mate all day. That very Argentine habit is as indigenous as it gets. And similar indigenous influences can be found in every aspect Argentine society and culture. Most white Argentines have at least 5-10% Amerindian ancestry and the average for the whole country is around 25%, it means at least half of the population is over 1/4 Amerindian. Plenty of Argentinians like Maradona, Aguero, Tevez, Di Maria, Sergio Romero are mestizos and many of the ones who look kind of white like Messi also have some indigenous ancestry.

Second, Brazilians are not only from the jungle. Most Brazilians have at least some ancestry from people who also came by boat, except that a good chunk of those "boat people" did not come willingly, but under chains. Plus, there was a huge influx of Europeans, Japanese and Arabs. All of that got mixed and turned into the current Brazilian national identity. Every Brazilian kid is thought at school, again and gain, that the national identity is the blend between the Amerindian, European and African cultures, with Arab and Japanese cultures peppered on top. And even the knuckle dragging semi-troglodyte named Bolsonaro understands and embraces the idea.

Fernadez is just an ignorant racist/white supremacist with a severe inferiority complex, which should be no surprise to anyone, as Peron was just like him.

Do you deny that Argentina is the most European country genetically and culturally in LatAm?
