Public Libraries?

Does anyone know if there is a public library system with multiple locations in BsAs? I'm hoping I'm missing something because of my poor Spanish skills, but from what I can tell on the website there is only one main branch, near Retiro, and no smaller neighborhood branches. I was hoping for something closer to where I live (in Palermo near the Palermo stop on the D) for use on a day-to-day basis.

If there is no such library system, does anyone have suggestions for quiet places to read/study/work? I work from home but get a little stir crazy staying here all day, and am tired of going to the same few cafes. I also just work best in a library environment, and am trying to find someplace similar in BA.

Although, speaking of, I'd also love suggestions for good wifi cafes in the area -- I only know of a couple and tend to go to them waaaayyyy too much.

There are many barrio bibliotecas - you will find them here along with a searchable catalogue.
