Hello All and Happy New Year. I will spend 3 weeks in Buenos Aires in May and am wondering about the best way to convert USD to Pesos. I was there in 2017 and it was very easy to do so on Florida street at one of the Cuevas.. but is that still possible? Or has the government cracked down on this informal practice? And is it advisable to us an ATM there? Any info about this would be helpful…Thank You..

don't use an atm unless you are desperate. you get ripped off at the official rate.

for that short a time, i would bring some USD cash and exchange it at a cueva, no problem

Bring USD cash, fresh new hundred dollar bills and send yourself money via Western Union if you don't bring enough. Enjoy your visit!

and before you come....read this groups postings about this...there are probably 700 postings about what you want to know...no...wrong....1000 postings.
