Hi all ,I'm wondering if a student ,Syrian ,catholic like me ... Speaks Arabic and English but no Spanish ... Can he find a job here or find an English college to finish his engineering study ??????
What do you think ????...

I would enroll in an intensive Spanish course just to be on the safe side. Most jobs here will require that you speak Spanish.

I'm working on it now .... But I need at least 6 months to start talking Spanish ,right ? :)

Depends on the person and how motivated you are. As far as i know there are no english speaking universities here. And finding a job without a work visa is extremely difficult. There was another thread about this but basically English isnt such a commodity here anymore as most professional Argentines do have have some level of English.

There is actually a rather big Christian Levantine community in Buenos Aires, AND an overlapping Arab-speaking community. You'll find it much easier to begin working for an Arab heritage biz owner, and then move on.

The language of engineering is universal, and while the classes will be in Spanish, there still going to be a lot of English terminology.

Go for it. If you don't like it here you'll still have the whole New World to find a place (Brazil for instance is heavily influenced by Christian Syrians - on the same strata as Germans Italians and Japanese)

peace
