receiving and making int. calls with Claro

Hello,

I have a Claro pre-paid and people cannot reach from other countries. When I write down my number I write it something like this +54 11 577xxxxx or +54 011 577xxxxx. Is this how you write an Argentinian number internationally? If yes, is this problem common to all pre-paid or is something wrong with my number?

Substituting 911 for 15 works for me whether I am calling from an overseas cellphone or a landline but for some reason I can't seem to use Skype to phone or text an Argentine cellphone whatever number I use or whichever country I'm in. Anybody have a surefire way of Skyping an Argentine cellphone?

If your number is 155 7712345 then the international calling number should be 00-54-911-57712345

Eventually try 00-54-911-1557712345 but I don't think it will work.

I have Claro but it's not prepaid so I have no xp about that point

I can call Argentine cell phones from Skype without a problem. Text I dunno though.

May be, username, your last post was a typo but I can confirm it should definitely work as follows 0054 911 57712345 (you missed out the 5 above) so should be 0054911 and then last 8 digits. Good luck.

On a similar note I came across www.rebtel.com for cheap international phone calls - work checking out. I got so frustrated with VOIP in the end.

No it should be +54 911 57712345 (assuming your number is 15 57712345)

well I'm not sure exactly what my number is. lol. The number the gave me on a note in the Claro shop is 011 57712345, and I gave that one to my friends in BA and they can reach me. Thereby I'm not sure whether the 5 stands stand for the 5 in 15, or in 577...
