Hi All

Our cablevision contract is coming to an end and i`m considering Directv as a replacement so I can get more sports channels ESPn3,etc for example.

ANyone know if the Directv install uses the same cable as cablevision boxes? ie 1 coax cable? Reason is our cable comes into the house upstairs and a splitter box splits it into 3 different rooms. Would like to use the same cable rather than having a new cable installed just for Directv?

Thanks

J

I have a great idea since summer is coming. Replace it with a social life.

I don't have a TV btw and love it.

Thanks for the advice. I have a social life. I also have 2 young children so I can always be out socialising and I would like to watch the football every now and then, is that ok?

p.s watching TV is more sociable than spending your time writing crap on internet forums.

I had DirecTV here and back in the states. Uses coax cable with the same type of connector, so you should be able to use your existing setup.

To terminate service with Cablevision, you have to go to one of their offices to do it. Calling them by phone is not enough, nor is sending an email. They make it difficult because they don't want to lose you as a customer. DirectTV installs a dish with their cable. Cablevision doesn't remove the old cable; you'll have to do it yourself. I had to buy a heavy-duty pliers to cut the cable. I've been without television for more than two years, and I don't miss it.
