Residency:Accumulation of 2 years here??

Hello, I am sure this is just a rumor from my porteño friends...but does anyone know if I have accumulated at least two years here in Argentina, that I could be declared a resident?

Putting aside all the legal documents I'll need signed, could my passport time be enough?? (There is an important contest I am trying to enter with a deadline in 4 days, hence my wild question.)

If the judging of the contest is based upon wishful thinking WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Two years in Argentina is a requirement for citizenship, but it is not a factor in granting residency...and even if you already had all of the documents ready for migraciones, you would probably have to wait more than four weeks for your first turno.

It may be possible to be granted residency precaria if you have already applied for citizenship and are fighting deportation, but that is very rare and you would also need a lawyer.
