Can anyone recommend a running shoe supplier who knows what they are about? My running shoes have done their last and I should have replaced them before

I'm looking for running shoes for up to 10k and a supplier who can diagnose underpronation/supination etc - preferably qualified or linked to a doctor/podriatist etc as I need inserts.

"Fashion" sports shops with flashy expensive rubbish have no idea

No particular brand preferences: Asics, Saucony, anything local? Open to suggestions from any runners out there

Belgrano/Palermo area most convenient

Thanks! :)

Hey PhilinBSAS,

I have yet to find a running-specific store here staffed by runners. If you already know your feet then most of the top brands' websites will have guides that will help you choose the right shoe (lighweight, neutral, stability, etc). Make sure to cross-check with runners' reviews.

Anyone with any clue can stand behind you and look at your ankles/feet and tell you if you pronate or supinate. After that it is a matter of finding a shoe in that category that has the correct foot laste and is built for the mileage you run.

Someone else might have a link to a podiatrist. You also might want to check ski-shops. When I worked selling boots we did our own boot-fitting and made our own inserts.

Good luck!

GS-Dirtboy! - Ta!!

Anyone with a suggestion for a reliable podiatrist?

10k for footwear,is that pesos?

Mr Poroto you dont have to spend that much on my Christmas present.

But you are a generous guy so after your activities in the money exchange then any of these these will do fine :D

Have you read 'Born to Run' Phil? Great book and you'll be bare foot running in no time :) No need for running shoes ever again!

On yer bike Chummy!!!

Do you seriously think I would run barefoot through the streets and parks of Benous Aires??? :p

You are telling me you have not had the "pleasure" of scrapeing doggy doo off your shoe soles and you want me to have to do this off my feet, between toes etc?

Nah here not even a starter - maybe acceptable to run barefoot on the plains of the savanna where at least the animals are larger and therefore their deposits are easier to avoid :D

www.clubdecorredores.com it's in Nuñez, they have a specialised shop upstairs. Can't remember if they have ascics but they probably do. I bought my asics in Sportline at a very good price (www.sportline.com.ar)

Let me know if I can help you any further with your running needs. :)

Phil, by the way, i'm an amateur runner, also. I'm going to the UK in a matter of hours to spend xmas and new years with fam but coming back in mid january. If you want, we can go running around palermo or somewhere.

Would be nice to make a group of expats/friends of expats to go running early in the weekends, no?

Regards
