Today another crap salad being served. This time in La Celeste, Bonpland 1944 in Palermo. Ok, today is absolutely the worst and that for an annoying price 84 pesos!
But so far I NEVER had a real good salad here, it's a waste of time and money looking for a place where they may serve good salads. Or am I wrong?

I have completely given up finding any good food in BA. I settled for mediocre, and just made peace with myself about it.

Make your own!! There is plenty of good lettuce - romaine (criolla), boston (mantecosa), red leaf (morada), radicchio, endive, radicheta, tomatoes, walnuts, blue cheese - olive oil, - you name it! Or go to one of those "tenedor libre" restaurants and eat all the salad you want plus everything else for around $70 pesos!

I've had delicious salads at several restaurants, usually kind of expensive though. The bar at the faena (which is just a really cool bar) has an excellent pear, goat cheese and walnut salad served with a balsamic vinaigrette.

Completely agree. Salad ingredients are all over the place. I eat salad daily. Buy yourself a mortar and pestle and a salad spinner and get inventive.

jajajaj good idea !! must be very $$$ , Will stick to the Tenedor libre idea!!

indeed: the salads at Hard Rock Café are much better than in bloody expensive places. It's like coffee here; you don't get the best coffee in Martinez, Bonafide, La tienda del Café and othe "especialistas" but in little unknown places or even in McDonalds!

Does anyone know where I can get either Cesar Dressing or Sweet Onion Dressing? I don't care if it's expensive or imported/slapped with the white sticker on the back, I'm just sick of eating Salad without dressing because I have vinegar/oil "dressings". One of the things I already miss about America.

Also, what about cheese. I was at COTO the other week and bought the only Cheese I could recognize (Cheddar) which turned out to be multiple layers of Kraft American Plastic Yellow Oil Singles (i.e. the stuff I hated back in North America). Is there an argie equivalent of the Kraft Crackerbarrel Cheese? I want "old/hard" cheese that you could find in places like Safeway or Trader Joe's.
