if you are going by bus, depending on the time it arrives, you will be bombarded by reps from hostels trying to get you to say at their place.. i was there close to 2 years ago, prices on the net were around 20 to 25 pesos per night, but i managed to get a room for 14 by negotiating and saying for 4 or 5 nights, plus they paid for the taxi to the hostel..... it was still like this a year ago when i friend went - prices had increased of course, but the reps at the bus station may have changed since then..
