I've seen quite a bit about scorpions in the local media as of late. Is anyone noticing any around or in their residence?

I found one in my previous apartment. Horrified, I spoke to the previous tenant - turned out he'd forgotten to tell me he'd come across them twice in a couple years as well. And they were doing some repairs to the building including plumbing, turned out there was one place where there were a few found at a time.

The type around here is supposed to be mild, not hugely reassuring for a family with small children.
