I am enjoying vegan food but I don't know many recipes. Usually I don't like the surrogates (i.e. veggie burgers) - I find the outcome rather disappointing compared to the original version, so I'd rather hear of truly vegan dishes.

Any favorite recipe you'd like to share?
Thanks in advance!

Serafina, I don't eat meat but I hardly ever eat any substitutions either - except for black bean burgers which I love! Anyway, some of my staple recipes include lentil stew - many of my Argentine friends say that they prefer my vegan version to the sometimes greasy guiso de lentejas with chorizo etc. The key is to add lots of spice and flavor and let it cook for a good long time.

I also make a chick pea stew with carrots, potatoes and tomatoes that is really good. Similar to the lentil stew to make.

I also love falafel but don't know how to make it...

I've been making some version of this for years. Not sure how I found this video, which is kind of strange, but I promise it's good, especially if you add a lot of your own favorite spices! (In my case: garlic, peppers, ginger, peppers and more chili peppers!)

I tried this recipe once. They turned out pretty good (I used garbanzos, not fava).

The video is indeed kind of strange! :) That is a LOT of subtitles at once... but the recipe sounds good! Gracias!

Also, I love this guy (and this recipe is gooooood)

That looks really good.

It is, nothing like the real thing but decent enough.

You can substitute similar things into it and it turns out pretty much the same, i replaced the mushrooms with soja and Ajinomoto as i don't like mushrooms, used regular "porotos" for the beans, butter for the "vegetarian suet" and added chiles, black, white and green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, "liquid smoke" and Jamaican allspice to the 4th part of the recipe.

You have to laugh at this BBC recipe though.
