Tango lovers take note...The International Tango Dancing festival is just around the corner. It's from the 6th to the 18th of September.
Apparently anybody can take part in it. I like listening to tango sometimes but I have to be in the mood for it. I always think that the tango dancing competition should have two categories, one for the local community and another for the foreign entries. Otherwise the locals are always going to win. Not very fair.

The FESTIVAL is concerts and the MUNDIAL is days of qualifying rounds for the finals of salon and performance tango.

The competition began in 2002 among the locals when no professionals were allowed. Now, locals do not always win the top prize in the Campeonato Mundial. Dancers know they have to be well-connected with the judges. Although the judges are well-known teachers, they are not social dancers. Attached is last year's program.
