A female friend in the States asked me to buy her a pair of red Tango shoes. Anybody have any idea where I can get one that is not Mercado Libre? I appreciate any recommendations.

I ignore whether they have a site but on Suipacha between 100-500 there are 3 tango shoes stores. I don't really know about tango shoes but they look pretty legit.

If she is in the US.....

The best place for good quality shoes is comme il faut. There are shoe stores near abasto, san telmo and san juan y boedo, but a good shoe is fundamental, so I recommend to only buy at comme il faut. You can check prices online, traditionally each pair costs from 100 dollars.

If she wants to try them on herself, Comme il Faut sells shoes in the US, you would have to contact them for current availability buy my friend bought a pair from a sales person in the DC area before. Otherwise head to Suipacha and check out the variety there as there are a bunch of stores, Darcos also has another store nearby. There is a huge variety in heel size, style and the like so I'd try to get more intel from her before going shopping!

I would never ask anyone else to buy shoes for me. Call me crazy but buying shoes without trying them on for fit is very risky. More particularly tango shoes given the hours spent dancing in them.
