Hi everyone,

I have just started a new English school named Tea and Chat English. It's aimed at students who want to improve their English in an informal environment discussing things they're interested in. The courses will be on literature, conversation and creative writing. They run once a week for an hour and a half. Tea is, of course, provided.

For more information see our website: www.teaandchatenglish.wordpress.com or email [email protected]

Thanks, and if you like the idea, spread the word!

Ah, this is a great approach! I've been tutoring a couple people here in Neuquén Capital using the same method with fantastic results. We started off with schollarly material, which diddn't go over too well, but as soon as we switched to casual chit-chat about topics the students were personally interested in they improved dramatically. Some things that students don't seem to pick up in schools here are slang, figures of speech, and idioms. It might not be terribly popular for people focused on getting a FCE, but it definitely boosts confidence which gets them out there chatting (practicing!) online with native speakers.
