Anyone interested in the long-delayed renovation of the theater should visit the exhibit in a temporary building set up outside the theater, at the corner of Viamonte and Libertad.

There are the usual photos, posters, models, and costumes. The real reason for going, however, is a film showing the restoration in progress and the current state of the theater. In contrast to projects that essentially rebuilt major theaters in Europe and the US with modern materials (often to the detriment of the theater's acoustics), this work is restoring the interior as if it were an old master painting. You can see that the main sala, stage, and reception rooms are almost complete. And gorgeous!
