Here is a couple of video watched last night on TED's super presentation on Japan's pbs NHK.

One is from the young but crazy and he performs his yo-yo mastery.
The other one is of a very famous architect that builds dwellings for the needy
out of paper tube.

The dwellings made from paper tubes was impressive. I've seen entire houses in the provinces built from 2 liter plastic bottles which I thought was brilliant. We've got so much freaking plastic choking the Earth it seems like we'd find a way to reuse the stuff productively.

Yeah this Architect, Shigeru Ban is very famous but not wealthy! His buildings take place by involving students manpower to build those ediffices in the areas devastated if I remember, The earthquake of Kobe, Japan 1995. Turkey 2013, China in 2014,Northern Italy 2012,Japan's Tsunami 2011,Christchurch 2011,The Philippines..Etc.

He always goes to those devastated places to eradicate his trade-mark paper tube construction and always he uses the manpower of local school students mainly architecture inclined bunches and it is said that he always finds major corp footing up the bill for the crude material hince the labours are always free.

He always saying that he is not interest in fame nor wealth but wanting to help those region, countries in need. For instance in Turkey, the people whom lost their stone/block made houses were never feeling comfortable sleeping under a concrete ceillinged roofed house. They were pitching tents on the open and sleeping there, so when he suggested houses made out of paper tubes, people felt at ease with his construction method. In addition, steel made but also people has used wood made dwellings for centuries and those paper tubes can be re-inforced and water proofed to become as or stronger than steels, he saz.

The architect's story made my day. Thanks for the education and the inspiration, Hybrid Ambassador.

Hi Helaine, I really do admire this humble person. He has won the Pritzker medal and could be among the famous but he shuns the fame and wealth away but gets well down earth to helping regions of the world struck by natural desasters and gets there on his own, before even call for his service.
