The National Government dissolved COPREC to optimize the resolution of consumer complaints

Consumer protection here exists more as a concept than a reality, there are too many hoops to jump through, and it seems consumers need to follow up in person, rather than online.

If I understand correctly, the government claimed the job of COPREC is done by other organizations. If that's the case, it seems it would have made more sense from the consumer protection point of view to rationalize the different organizations and reorder them under an ombudsman, for example, but that would have required actual thought and work.
