Hola :)

We are two British students from London thinking of studying at San Andres Universidad and moving to Buenos Aires for 5 months.

We are very excited by this opportunity and the city! However we are still very unsure as it is a giant leap for us both.

We are two 20 year old (females). Do you have any advice?

Accommodation-wise, what are the best, cheapest and safest options (where the students are...)?

Anyone heard of the uni? Is the city safe? Are flights very expensive? Overall impressions?

Also... crazy beach parties?? :D

Gracias

UDESA (Universidad de San Andres) is a very good private university, that is located in the north suburbia, residential zone, houses and trees, etc, normally safe. I dont think is entretaining for a 20 year old to live there (kind of boring). Its very nice and tranquil, great old trees, wide streets, the river and its sports, like kite surf, etc, nice and big houses, but outside the city and the (vibrant) city life. Although there is train and lots of buses, that part of the city requires a car (not like the city).
If you live in the city, lets say, Palermo, Recoleta, even Belgrano it will be more fun for sure, but you will have at least an hour to university.
The city is safe, Zona Norte too (despite having the bigger shanty town, La Cava).

All your answers are in the UDESA web page , there can find advise on accomodations, roommates, transfers to get there, etc, etc, Requirements to enroll for courses (in Spanish), Exams needed, etc...

There is a search bar at the top of this page. You can use it to search on any topic. The questions you are asking have been covered in depth.

Here is a photo of Zona Norte around San Andreas Universidad.

(just kidding) :)

the website will be really helpful with these questions however yes first remember the beaches here suck, and second that school is out of the city so maybe look at universidad belgrano, etc since its not like your graduating from here and have to make a very crucial decision...
And as for flights, google?

And whats holding you back? 5 months is hardly anything and if you don't like it you can always head back when its over if you don't like it no problem and no questions asked?

Domestic flights are expensive for foreigners because they are not subsidized like for the locals... think $500USD return to Bariloche.
